Overcoming prejudices, changing views and socializing were the ideas of the "Watching You Watching Me" project, that will be presented at Neue Schule für Fotografie in november 2010. A workshop within the "Spot on … BAMAKO" exhibition prompted Eva Maria Ocherbauer and Aida Muluneh to initiate the student exchange project and to document the sustainability of the encounter.
Five young photographers from the Neue Schule für Fotografie Berlin had visited D.E.S.T.A. FOR AFRICA in Addis Ababa in march 2010. In June 2010 the ethiopian students had been welcome to Berlin. Following the theme "creative exchange through images" they kept hold of their experiences and impressions with their cameras.
The produced works transport the result of an effective learning process: a new view on Africa and Europe, showing some characteristics far from the established stereotypes, accompagnied by some subjective impressions of the photographers.
